George Archer born circa 1873 in England son of Robert Archer, a carpenter. He was living at
4 Bath Avenue and working as a butcher’s foreman when he married Emma Kavanagh on
25 Nov 1895 at Star of the Sea Church, Sandymount. Emma of 11 Tritonville Road was the
daughter of John Kavanagh, a carpenter. He worked for H Williams and Co as a butcher and
set up his own business in 1909 at 12 Talbot Street. They were living in Sandymount in 1901
and at Vernon Avenue, Clontarf in 1911 and all of their seven children had survived. George
was vice president and later president of the Dublin Victuallers Association. Emma died
13 Apr 1918 at 15 Vernon Avenue. Her funeral mass was held at John the Baptist church and
she was buried at Glasnevin. By 1924 he had a wholesale outlet at Marlboro Street. He was
managing director of Ross & Co, Marlboro Street in 1946. George and his daughter Doreen
moved to Roebuck Grove in 1935. George died at Roebuck Grove on 19 Oct 1947 and left
39k in personal estate. He is buried at Glasnevin.

Grove with her father.
2 Robert William Archer born 29 Apr 1898 at Baggot Street. He was a cadet and died
unmarried from TB at Dr Steeven’s Hospital on 16 Jun 1918.
3 Elsie Margarite Maud Archer born 30 Jan 1900 at Tritonville Road.
4 Richard Joseph Archer born 17 Feb 1902 was a victualler living at Vernon Avenue and
married Aileen Farrell on 17 Sep 1925. Aileen was resident in Clontarf and the
daughter of Henry Farrell, a jewel case maker.
5 John Peter Archer third son born circa 1904. He was a victualler and married Eileen
Maud Coe on 27 Aug 1935 at Kilcloon Church, Dunboyne. Eileen worked as a maid
and was the eldest daughter of Henry Stewart Co, a peace commissioner and railway
secretary of Floraville, Inchicore.
7 Eileen Mary Matilda Archer born 4 Jun 1905 at Baggot Street.
8 Cecelia Mary Teresa Archer born circa 1909 married John Michael Joseph O'Connell on
30 Sep 1936 at Holy Cross Church, Dundrum. John was a business director of Laurel
Hill, Rathfarnham and the son of Thomas J O’Connell.
