Alexander Wilson Allan born circa 1850 second son of Robert Allan, a draper of Cork.
Alexander of Garvagh, County Derry was an inland revenue officer. He married Sophia
McCurdy Fisher on 21 Aug 1877 at Portrush. Sophia was the youngest daughter of
Archibald Fisher, a civil engineer. Alexander was promoted to Kidderminster in 1881. He
died on 17 Oct 1890 at the Imperial Hotel, Manchester. In 1890 Sophia was living at
Clintonville, Garvagh and was living at Montpelier Manor in 1900. She sponsored a Fisher
Bed in 1913 at Coleraine Cottage Hospital. Sophia died 10 Dec 1932 at Dunboe House,
Castlerock, Co Derry.
1 Florence Roberta Allan born 18 Jul 1880 at Dunedin, Lodge Road, Coleraine in Co
Derry. Florence of Montpelier married Captain Samuel Ferguson Heard, Royal
Marines on 3 Dec 1902 at Monkstown Church. Samuel was the son of the late
Robert Lynn Heard, MD of Blackrock Lodge. The bride and bridesmaid all wore
grey and it was an extreme quiet ceremony.
2 Anna Sophia (Sophie) Allan youngest daughter born 14 Aug 1882 at Garvagh, Co
Derry. She married Charles Elliott Allen of Winnipeg in Monkstown on 16 Jul 1910
at Monkstown Church. She was given away by her brother in law Captain J A
Willington. Charles born in Derry in 1880 was the captain of the Irish International
Rugby Team in 1905. He was a broker and the son of C C Allen late of the 24 Regt,
Edenmore, Londonderry. The reception was held in Montpelier Manor. They lived in
Canada.
1 Infant son Allen died 9 Sep 1911 at Montreal.

3 Elizabeth Mary Josephine Allan born 10 Jul 1878 at Bridge Cottage, Kilread, Co Derry.
She married James Arthur Willington on 4 Jun 1902 at Monkstown Church. James
was a captain in the West Indian Regiment and the son of Robert Going Willington.
James attained the rank of Major and retired. He died 29 Aug 1957 at Dunboe
House, Blakes Lower, Castlerock, Co Londonderry. Probate to his wife and son
Archibald.
1 Archibald James Fisher Willington born 24 Mar 1903 at Montpelier Manor was
educated at Shrewsbury and Sandhurst. He joined the Suffolk Regiment and
attained the rank of temporary lieutenant colonel during WW2 and awarded
the OBE. He married Joan Michelle Le Mesiurer Halliley in 1930 at Bury St
Edmunds and they divorced in 1950. Archibald was granted custody of their
only child. He remarried and worked for Shell and BP in Northern Ireland. He
retired to Kilbrittain in Co Cork.

He was living at Dunboe, Castlerock in 1939.
3 Sophia (Joy) Willington born 29 Apr 1907 at Richmond Hill, Monkstown married
Alan Traill in 1930.
4 Robert Willington born 22 Aug 1908 at Brighton Vale, Monkstown died
21 Feb 1909 at Brighton Vale and was buried at Deansgrange.
5 John Ormsby Willington born 5 Dec 1910 at Brighton Vale, Monkstown emigrated
to Canada.
